Questions and answers
What effect does a place of power have on me?
That varies per person and per place, and how much space you take up in that place. Scottish doctors are allowed to prescribe nature as medicine for good reason. It's about how consciously you experience a place. If you rush through it, not much will happen. But you can also have intense experiences. Sometimes people know the answer to big questions in a flash. Others mainly relax, feel very happy for a moment or feel much more energetic. If you then “string together” the places, it works twice as well. The aim of GoFinestera is for the places to really have an effect on you and enrich your life, day in, day out!
How does it work?
This site has many different entry points to help you build your own personal journey. First, think about what you are curious about. Here's how we can help you get started:
The map: here you can zoom in and out and click on locations. This will take you to information about those places.
Regions: here you can see which places are available per region. You will also find all kinds of tips about the regions here.
Themes: perhaps you have a specific wish: to de-stress, let go, heal, gain a different perspective, walk pilgrim paths. Then you are sure to find what you want here.
If you are looking for a specific place, enter the name in the search box and you will find ways to experience it, as well as general information.
Information: the site will soon grow into a library about places of power, history and landscape. Take a look at the hot topics at the bottom of the page.
Meditate: the site contains a large number of meditations, both in audio and written form. There are general meditations (grounding, letting go, recharging) but also meditations for specific types of places (stone circles, trees, burial mounds, et cetera) or themes (trust, “being”, et cetera). You will also find meditations at the places themselves.
Icons: These are the legend units. Here you will find a detailed explanation of what these places are and what they can do energetically.
Who selects the sites?
The collection of places has been selected by Tjeerd Gorter (intuitive development trainer, tour guide to places of power, physical geographer and author of Levend Land). They are all places of energy that “do something”: heal, revitalise, encourage reflection, release, recharge, etc. Tjeerd has a fondness for prehistoric, megalithic culture, because these peoples had a great deal of knowledge about everything related to life and connecting with the earth. But... there are many other places from other cultures and also purely natural. Tjeerd has researched these places for years, visited them with and without groups, and listed them. Now it is time to share this knowledge widely.
Is there an app?
No, we don't have an app. Our website is very mobile friendly.
Do I need to sign up to view the content?
Some parts are freely accessible (the map itself). If you register, you will have access to all special regions, locations, meditations, routes, and monthly updates.
I have a different question.
Do you have a different question? Mail to gofinestera@gmail.com (?????)
Is it necessary to have experience with meditation?
No, there is a structure. For people who have never meditated before or have no experience with “feeling places”, there are basic meditations. People with a lot of experience can choose other meditations. But basically: everyone feels and perceives in their own unique way! Go on a journey and experiment! And... enjoy!
Is there a specific order I need to follow?
No, the site is structured like a landscape that you can explore in your own way and at your own pace. Map enthusiasts can immediately browse through the map, or you can zoom in on a region or area you want to visit. Perhaps you have a specific question, such as which places are best for letting go, growing or reflecting. Or maybe you are looking for something spectacular and want to find a mega power spot. Another option is to search for meditations you can do at home or on location. Anything is possible!
Can I go to the sites?
Yes, we definitely recommend it! That's the nice thing about this site: it is - in fact - a (very special!) travel guide. If you prefer a group trip and don't want to arrange and organise everything yourself, you can check out the options at www.splendid-life.nl.
What exactly is this online environment?
It is a digital space where you can find inspiration, locations and content that help you get closer to yourself and to the earth, nature and our history. These are all places that offer peace, creativity, nature, reflection or personal growth.
Is there a community or forum?
