What are personal data?
As soon as you visit our website, call us, send an email, request a quotation, or book a journey, you automatically share personal data with us. We understand that you want to know what we do and do not do with your personal data. All relevant information can be found below in this privacy policy.
Gofinestera processes personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This privacy policy explains, among other things, which personal data we process, why we need these data, and how long we retain them. It also outlines your rights and how you can submit a question, comment, or complaint.

The data controller for the processing of personal data is Gofinestera.nl, based in Austerlitz, The Netherlands.
Which personal data do we process, why, and on what legal basis?
Gofinestera generally processes the following personal data of participants:
- First and last name, initials
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Address, postal code, city
- Telephone number
- E-mail address
In addition, specifically for journeys, we collect:
- Passport details, including BSN (citizen service number), and other contact details as agreed
- Dietary requirements (necessary for accommodations and restaurant bookings)
- Medical information: Only if relevant for the tour leader to know during the journey, so that appropriate action can be taken if necessary. This is done for the safety of the participant and to ensure the journey is carried out responsibly
- In some cases, it is necessary to share name and address details with a local organization for booking transport, accommodation, or access tickets
- Contact details of people staying at home. These are used only in case of an emergency, to inform the home front during a journey
Gofinestera newsletter
We process data including your gender, first and last name, and email address. When you subscribe to the newsletter, your data are used to send it to you. Your data, including information about clicks within the newsletter, are stored until you unsubscribe. An external mailing program is used to send the newsletter. Data you provided for registrations are not stored in this mailing program.
Online orders
If you order something online (for example, an online training or the book Levend Land), we process your name, email address, and postal address in order to establish the agreement. We process the selected product to determine the content of the agreement. Your name, email address, and postal address are also required to send you the selected product.
We process your bank and payment details to handle payment for the product, and your email address to send order confirmations and invoices. Providing your phone number is optional.
Evaluation
We process data including your name, the journey you participated in, ratings, feedback, and other information you provide in the travel evaluation. These data are used exclusively for internal evaluation purposes and, depending on the situation, may be anonymized. We process these data on the basis of the performance of the agreement we have entered into with you.
Website visits
Gofinestera collects data via Google Analytics. These data are anonymized and are not linked to your personal data.
Summary
In summary, we use your data for the following purposes:
- Carrying out all activities related to registration for and participation in training courses, consultations, and/or journeys
- Responding to information requests
- Performing all other activities and processing related to Gofinestera’s business operations
- Providing access to online learning platforms
- Calculating, recording, and collecting fees related to the requested services (including outsourcing claims to third parties)
- Complying with requirements of the Dutch Tax Authorities (accounting records)
- Paying invoices for services rendered
With whom do we share your data?
For journeys, we only make your data available to travel service providers, travel insurers, and travel guides, insofar as this is necessary for the proper execution of the journey. For the processing of data of participants in training courses, consultations, and journeys, we use several external processors, such as booking systems, accounting systems, accountants, postal service providers, and payment service providers.
Gofinestera only provides data to third parties if required by law.
How do we secure your data?
We take all reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect your personal data and require third parties who process personal data on our behalf to do the same. This includes, among other things:
- Access to personal data is limited to persons who are authorized to process these data, through physical and digital access restrictions
- Our network, data storage, and data transfer are secured in accordance with current security standards
- The privacy policy is evaluated annually
What are your rights?
You may request access to, correction of, supplementation to, or (partial) deletion of your personal data at any time. This may result in you no longer being able to use (part of) our services. To help us process your request, you will need to identify yourself.

Do we change our privacy policy?
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example due to changes in processing purposes, working methods, or legislation. We may amend the content of this privacy policy unilaterally and without prior notice. Please refer to the date of the latest update at the bottom of this document.

If you have questions, comments, or complaints about how we handle your personal data, please contact us via the email address below. We will respond as soon as possible, and no later than within two weeks.
How long are data retained?
Gofinestera does not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which they are processed. Personal data are retained in accordance with Dutch fiscal legislation for a maximum period of seven (7) years after completion of the last training, coaching, or journey for the stated purposes, or for a shorter period if required by law.
Newsletter data are retained until you unsubscribe. After the retention period has expired, your personal data will be deleted, unless we request your consent for further communication. Your data will always be deleted immediately upon your request.
Amendments
Gofinestera may amend this privacy policy at any time.
