Have you ever seen a drop of water in a waterfall that didn’t dare to fall? A river that hesitated to flow on? An avalanche that paused for a moment? I reckon not… but if you have, do tell us! Because we’d naturally love to get to know it.
The Earth has no deliberations and no ‘mental constructs’. It isn’t interested in stock market prices, Excel spreadsheets, or schedules. It has no academic degree. Nor does it need one. On the one hand, it simply follows the laws of nature, causing water to flow from the mountains to the sea, where a tsunami is the natural response to a sudden earthquake, and where the ebb and flow alternate in an endless rhythm. On the other hand, the Earth also simply possesses consciousness that far transcends thought. I will discuss this in more detail in one of my next posts, because connecting with it is essential for all our decisions on and about the Earth, and thus about ourselves. The Earth does not communicate this consciousness in a way that we can grasp with our minds, much to the chagrin of the thinkers amongst us. Rather, it communicates in a way that we can feel and experience, and with which we can ‘resonate’. From which we can learn and recharge, and which makes us pause and become aware of the beauty of life, leading us to treat her differently – we simply cannot help ourselves.
