Leskernick Stones

The Leskernick complex is situated on the southern and western inclines of Leskernick Hill and encompasses two expansive Bronze Age settlements, a pair of stone circles, an extended stone alignment, along with multiple cairns and burial structures. These settlements feature at least 44 circular stone dwellings, integrated within a network of walled fields spanning approximately 21 hectares. The terrain is characterized by local granite "clitter," giving the slopes a unique, rocky appearance. The monuments are nestled within open moorland, offering vistas toward Brown Willy and Rough Tor. Positioned in the valley below the settlements are two stone circles, while a lengthy stone row traverses the landscape diagonally, connecting ceremonial and domestic zones.
