Surrounded by windswept rocks and sweeping views of Iona, it’s said that its waters can restore youth and vitality, a peaceful spot to explore on a scenic hike from the village or Iona Abbey.

Well of the Eternal Youth - Scotland
Situated in a rocky hollow just below Dun I’s peak, the Well of the Eternal Youth, or Tobar na h-Aoise, is a modest, stone-edged pool likely fed by a natural spring. The surrounding landscape is exposed and windswept, with natural rock shelters partly shielding the site. Falling away from the well are reed-filled fields and coastal vistas. Although small, this reflective pool contrasts with the starker rocky terrain nearby. The surrounding views include the rolling grassy expanses typical of Iona, with the historic Iona Abbey located approximately 1.5 kilometers to the south. While wells with similar religious or cultural significance exist throughout the Hebrides, this one is the most prominent on Iona.
