Fernacre Stone Circle

The monument consists of a broad oval ring of granite stones, roughly 70 in total, with about 39 still standing, measuring around 46 by 44 metres. The stones are irregular in shape and mostly modest in height, with the tallest just over one metre. Positioned on gently rising land between Brown Willy and Rough Tor, Fernacre is encircled by remnants of ancient occupation, including hut circles and traces of prehistoric field systems. The landscape between Fernacre, Stannon, and Louden circles is rich in archaeological remains, highlighting the area’s significance during the Bronze Age.
