Nine Stones Stonecircle

Nine Stones Stonecircle, also known as the Altarnun stone circle, is the smallest stone circle on Bodmin Moor, measuring just 15 meters in diameter. The circle is made up of eight irregularly spaced granite stones forming the perimeter, with a single upright stone at the center. The tallest of the stones stands at 1.3 meters, and a flat triangular stone lies at the base of one of the uprights. The circle is located on East Moor, approximately 3 kilometers south-southeast of Altarnun, situated between Ridge Hill and Fox Tor, near the boundary of the Altarnun and North Hill parishes. The surrounding landscape features open grassland and nearby prehistoric elements, including hut circles and extensive field systems.
