Blackhammer Chambered Cairn

Blackhammer Chambered Cairn is a Neolithic burial monument located on the island of Rousay in Orkney, surrounded by an open coastal landscape with views over the nearby islands. Today, the site appears as a grass-covered mound with a modern concrete roof and visitor access point, allowing visitors to see and enter parts of the interior. It is one of 15 chambered cairns identified on Rousay and forms part of the island’s remarkable collection of prehistoric monuments, alongside nearby sites such as Midhowe, Taversoe Tuick and Knowe of Yarso.
