Springs at the Vassergrafveld
The Springs at the Vassergrafveld are calcareous springs emerging in the Vasserheide nature reserve near Vasse, in the municipality of Tubbergen, Twente region of Overijssel, Netherlands. These groundwater sources feed streams such as the Hazelbekke and Roezebeek, creating wet habitats rich in lime-loving plants amid heathland, forests, and glacial cover sands on the edge of the Dal van de Mosbeek Natura 2000 area. The springs mark a transition zone between higher dry ridges and low wet valleys shaped by Ice Age geology, with the Vassergrafveld burial ground adding a layer of prehistoric significance to this landscape.
