Callanish Stone Circle II

Callanish II is a small yet distinctive stone circle setting on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, located close to the better-known Callanish I complex. Surrounded by open moorland, the site features standing stones arranged in an elongated oval shape. This layout creates a more compact and enclosed space compared to nearby monuments. The landscape around it is characterised by peat moor, low vegetation, and distant views towards the coast, giving the area a strong sense of remoteness. Its closeness to other Callanish sites underlines the importance of this region as a prehistoric ritual landscape.
