Creevykeel Court Tomb

Creevykeel Court Tomb is one of the largest and best-preserved Neolithic court tombs in Ireland, located near the coast in County Sligo. The monument consists of a long, trapezoidal cairn made of piled stones, measuring approximately 55 metres in length. At its front lies a semi-circular open court defined by upright stones, leading into a series of burial chambers covered by large capstones. Its scale and layout make it a standout example among similar monuments found across northwest Ireland. Nearby prehistoric sites, including wedge tombs and megalithic structures, highlight the region’s dense archaeological landscape.
