Dolmen D43
Hunebed D43 stands out among the dolmens found in the Netherlands. Unlike typical dolmens that feature a single burial chamber, this site contains two smaller chambers within a 40-meter-long earthen mound, surrounded nearly entirely by a ring of upright kerbstones. It is situated just west of the road connecting Emmen and Odoorn, its elongated form clearly visible in the open landscape of Drenthe. Nearby dolmens, including D42, are present; however, none exhibit the distinctive “long grave” structure characteristic of D43.
