Eukenberg
This location lies close to the ruins of Oud Naarden and the Limitische Heide nature reserve, within the municipality of Gooise Meren. The landscape features softly rolling heathlands interspersed with woodland patches and open grassy areas, particularly around Limitische Heide. Typical of the region, the sandy soils support stretches of heather that bloom in late summer. From the modest summit of Eukenberg, which rises about 23 meters above sea level, visitors can admire sweeping views across the Randmeren and across the heath towards nearby sites like Oud Naarden and the distinctive star-shaped fortifications surrounding the town of Naarden. The combination of these natural and historic elements provides a compelling sense of continuity and beauty.
