Kermario Alignments - Carnac

The Alignements de Kermario are one of the largest and best-known sections of the Carnac megalithic complex in Brittany. The site stretches for more than 1 kilometre, covering approximately 1,120 metres. Its rows of granite standing stones follow the gently changing terrain, with the largest stones concentrated towards the western end. The Kermario alignment contains approximately 1,029 menhirs arranged in ten rows. A dolmen also stands within the monument area, adding a funerary structure to the long lines of standing stones. Kermario forms part of a much larger prehistoric landscape that includes the alignments of Ménec and Kerlescan, along with numerous dolmens, burial monuments and other megalithic structures.
