Wewelsburg Castle

Wewelsburg Castle stands on a hill above the village of Wewelsburg, near Büren in North Rhine-Westphalia, overlooking the Alme Valley. Its most distinctive feature is its triangular design, with three corner towers that make it unlike most other castles in Europe. Built from stone, the castle combines strong defensive features with the balanced proportions of Renaissance architecture.
